Mobile manipulator

A mobile manipulator combines a moving base with an arm or another manipulation mechanism. It can change work locations and physically interact with objects.

How it works

Base navigation and manipulation control need shared position information. Mobile ALOHA research illustrates mobile manipulation combined with operator demonstrations.

Where to start

When considering supply to several workstations, distinguish transport from picking up and placing a part. A mobile robot without an arm is not automatically a mobile manipulator.

Limits and what to verify

Arrival accuracy is different from grasp accuracy. Floor transitions, passage widths, docking, cables and charging may determine whether a scenario works.

Before requesting a quote

Prepare a route map, transfer heights and object variations. Evaluate the complete arrive–pick–transport–place sequence. The cited research results are not claims about the capabilities of the linked model.
